Stars Girls Basketball Team Beats Raiders

The Holy Angels Stars win Missota Conference opener, 43-41, against visiting Northfield Raiders.

The girls basketball team overcame a stern challenge from Northfield to win its Missota Conference opener, 43-41, at home on Friday night.

In a tightly-contested matchup from start to finish, the Stars held a two-point halftime lead of 24-22—a differential that proved to be the final margin of victory.

Holy Angels guard Laura Margarit led all scorers with 19 points, while forward Liz Lecy contributed 10 points to the Stars' victorious effort.

The victory improved Holy Angels' record to 3-4 on the season as the team prepares to host non-conference foe Pine Island at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night in its final game before the holiday break.
