Richfield Baseball Drops Key Circuit Game

Spartans nipped, 8-7, at St. Thomas Academy on Monday to fall to third in Classic Suburban Conference.

The seventh week of the spring sports season began on Monday, with several (RHS) and (AHA) teams now preparing for the playoffs.

An 8-7 loss at St. Thomas on Monday in a battle of the two teams tied for second place in the Classic Suburban Conference (CSC) dropped the into a third-place tie with North St. Paul.

Both teams entered the game at 9-4 in circuit play before the hosts bettered Richfield by a single run to take a one-game lead in the conference and quash any Spartans' hopes of claiming a share of the CSC title this spring.

Richfield, now 11-6 overall and 9-5 in conference play, return home to close out the regular season against conference opponents Henry Sibley and Hill-Murray at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, before hosting Minneapolis Southwest on Friday at 4 p.m.

Richfield Softball: Spartans Eliminated In Conference Chase

The also saw its hopes of a conference-championship split dashed on Monday in a 4-1 loss at Hill-Murray on Monday. 

Individual statistics were not available. The Spartans fell three games off the lead pace of North St. Paul with two games to play before the close of the regular season.

Richfield, now 11-5 overall and 10-3 in the conference, host Hill-Murray on Tuesday and North on Wednesday with the first pitch scheduled for 4:15 p.m. for both games.

Holy Angels defeated Richfield 168-179 in a cross-town boys golf rivalry meet at the Minneapolis Golf Club on Monday as the Stars' Josh Littman earned medalist honors with a two-over-par card of 38.

Holy Angels Boys Lacrosse: Stars Drop To .500

After losses on Thursday and Friday last week, the fell to 5-5 on the spring.

Holy Angels Girls Lacrosse: Stars Split Thursday, Friday Matchups

Holy Angels Girls Golf: Stars Eighth In Missota Meet

A score of 432 at Northfield Golf Club earned the Holy Angels girls golf team a seventh-place finish in a Missota meet on Monday. Individual results were not available.
