Richfield CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) trainees began the third-day of their weekend course with two-and-a-half hours of fire safety training on Sunday morning at the .

CERT aims to educate community members on how to potentially save lives in the event of a disaster before emergency responders arrive.

There will be another opportunity for community members to take CERT skill training classes in Fall 2011. In addition, the City of Bloomington is a partner in CERT. Patch will update readers on the exact dates of the training courses when more information becomes available.
