About David

I'm a husband, dad, and photojournalist. I have lived in Richfield for 8 years and Minnesota for my whole life. I have 3 children, 3 chickens, and 1 cat. I brew my own beer at home and am a member of the local homebrewing club the Richfield Engineers of Hops and Barley (R.E.H.A.B.)

A few of my favorite movies are "Best in Show", "Caddyshack",  and "The Big Lebowski".

I took interest in photography after taking a class in 6th grade at the old train depot in downtown Duluth, MN when my family moved there after my dad got a promotion. Being new in town, I didn't know anyone so photography became a good way to fill my time. I learned the developing process and worked in a dark room developing my own prints. It was one of my best memories of living in Duluth. We moved back shortly after but I found myself drawn back to Duluth later in my life and attended 2 years at UMD in 1996 and '97.

When not freelancing for Richfield Patch, my wife and I have a portrait and event photography business, Haines Photography.  Our family enjoys the outdoors whether it is playing in Richfield's 460 acres of park lands or paddling the BWCA.

To see more of my photos or to follow me online just 'like' my Facebook fan page. While you are at it, 'like' Richfield Patch as well.

Hi,

I am working on a feature film that is helping a great cause as well as offering people the opportunity to get involved with the film. I think this would be a great story to write about and tell people. I just wanted to pass this along. …Or If it’s not too much trouble, pledge on something (they are offering great things!) and if you can also please pass this along to your
friends.

If I can help you out with anything or the production can help you with anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Here is the link for the film:
