Richfield Sports Teams Donning Purple Laces to Support Teen Dating Violence Awareness

sports teams partnered with Cornerstone, a domestic violence prevention and intervention agency, to participate in TIE (Taking Initiative Everyday) Campaign, which aims to end dating violence. Athletes are wearing purple laces, stickers or ribbons during their games and matchups throughout February to show their support for the campaign.

TIE is being done as part of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, which runs the entire month of February. The following Richfield sports teams are participating:

• Boys ;
• and basketball;
• ;
• ;
• Boys ;
• Nordic skiing.

Other area schools and teams that are participating are:

• Bloomington-Jefferson High School hockey, basketball and gymnastics teams;
• Bloomington-Kennedy High School hockey, basetball and gymnastics teams;
• Edina High School girls basketball team;
• Eden Prairie High School girls basketball team.
