Max Hamilton Named Tom Spooner Award Recipient

The triathlete and honor roll student was one of 12 Richfield High School students nominated for the award.

named Max Hamilton as the 2012 Tom Spooner Award recipient Friday.

Hamilton is a three-sport athlete (swimming, track and field and cross country), a four-year member of the school's marching band and an "A" honor roll student. He has earned 11 varsity letters, seven all-conference awards, three all-section honors, eight all-state awards, and served in leadership roles as a team captain. In addition to his many accomplishments, Hamilton has also set two school swimming records for the breaststroke.

According to a school release, Hamilton plans to attend the University of St. Thomas in the fall and major in math, science or engineering.
