Holy Angels Football Season Ended by South St. Paul
Holy Angels' turnovers prove costly, and defense unable to stop the Packers running game
The Stars fell to South St. Paul Packers at home on Saturday afternoon in the Section 3AAAA tournament seminfinals with a final score of 50-20.
The first half was closely contested, with each team proving to be able to move the ball efficiently on offensive drives. At the half, the Holy Angels only trailed 23-14.
The first few possessions of the second half were critical for the Holy Angels to climb back into the game. But a few costly fumbles, one on a running play and one on a kickoff return, gave the ball back to the Packers offense with a short field to work with.

The Packers capitalized on the Holy Angels turnovers and took both drives in for a touchdown, putting the game nearly out of reach.
For the seniors, it was their last game in a Holy Angels uniform. At the end of the game, the seniors lined up in the endzone and said their farewells to their teammates, coaches and days of high school football. Holy Angels finished the season with a record of 8-2.
