FREE educational speaker series for the Autism community

The “John Lighty Series” was launched in 2006 for Minnesota Life College (MLC) participants, their families and the Twin Cities community.  It is an educational speaker series in which the goal is to inform and educate people in the area of learning differences.  MLC hosts national and local speakers that address topics such as learning differences, autism spectrum disorders, vocational support, teaching/parenting techniques, healthy initiatives, and independent living.  Our educational series offers continuing education credits to professionals and promotes a better understanding of needs within the LD community.

Minnesota Life College has partnered with the Southdale YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.  The YMCA’s response to many unique issues impacting the community provides support through services focused on critical areas, such as child welfare, community health, job training, environmental education, and quality of life or family services.
