Richfield High School Students Place 3rd in U of M Competition

Students from across Minnesota compete in for the Golden Femur Award.

Four (RHS) students were awarded the Bronze Ulna Award at the University of Minnesota's 2nd Annual Golden Femur Awards ceremony on Nov. 17.

More than 400 students, from 15 different Minnesota high schools competed for the Golden Femur Award at the university's Best College in our Schools (CIS) Anatomy and Physiology Video competition, according to a university press release.

The RHS students placed third for their video comparing the breakfast habits of 18-year-olds today with those of their grandparents, and other adults, when they were 18.

The theme was based on Michael Pollen's book, In Defense of Food. Students were asked to produce a video based on one of the book's concepts and awards were given based on creativity, according to the press release.
