Letter to the Editor: Support Marc Berris for Hennepin County Judge

A local business owner shows his support for the attorney in the upcoming election.

Dear Editor,

I'm writing to you today to express my true thoughts of why Marc Berris should have a seat on the Hennepin County Courts as a Judge.

Marc has been a Conciliation court referee in Hennepin County for nearly a decade. He has presided over 5,000 cases. Within that position, he has maintained high marks in court surveys for his fairness in the courtroom. As well, Marc has been an administrative hearing offer for three other local cities and has trained several new judges from throughout the state at the U of M.

Marc has had a wide range of experience in the legal system. He has both extensive civil and criminal experience, working in felonies, misdemeanors, state and federal law, trial and appellate courts. More than working as a firefighter for Golden Valley, he has had other law enforcement experience.  Marc has taught his skills to others in a classroom setting. And he has served as section co-chair for HCBA Criminal Law Section and a member of DWI Task Force.

All around, Marc is currently and in the past combined, sat on more than a dozen non-legal public service boards.

To sum up, Marc recognizes the importance of being courteous, fair, patient and prepared. He knows the difference between a "big deal" and a "little deal".

Having Marc Berris for Hennepin County Judge, clearly is a big deal.

Thank you kindly,

Andy Strauss
