House Creates Resolution Urging U.S. Congress to Reorder Spending Priorities

The Minnesota State Legislature is in session.

(DFL-Minneapolis), who represents part of Richfield, was one of many authors of a resolution last week that asked the United States Congress to shift its spending priorities from the war to "the essential needs of all."

Using examples of how the Minnesota and its residents are struggling, HF1249 states, "Our nation desperately needs to better balance its approach to security to go beyond military defense and include the economic, social, and environmental needs of our communities, state, and nation."

The resolution was introduced on March 21 and referred to the Veteran's Services Division Committee the same day. No other actions have been taken at this time.
