A Guide to the 2012 Richfield City Council Races

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Richfield's Ward 1 and Ward 3 are uncontested this year, with incumbents running for re-election. However, Ward 2 is up for grabs now that Councilman Fred Wroge will be retiring after his term expires. Edwina Garcia and David Buzicky, beat out Kent Fairbairn at the August primaries, and will both be on the ballot on Election Day.

Redistricting

After the Legislature approved its redistricting plan for the state, Richfield precinct and ward boundaries were also redrawn:

Some residents may find their precinct has changed as a result of the lines being redrawn. The old and new precinct maps, and the new ward map, have been attached to this article as PDFs. They can be seen in the photo box above.
