Local Mother Alleges Three Cases of Molestation

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

Editor's Note: All the following information was taken from the 's Crime and Arrest Reports from March 8, 2012, detailing incidents from March 4-7.

A local mother reported Sunday that her five-year-old daughter, as well as two other five-year-old females, were molested by a 12-year-old girl who is known to them. All the details of the report are still under investigation.

March 4

  • A 43-year-old Minneapolis man was charged with third-degree DUI after registering a .18 blood alcohol content reading.
  • A 33-year-old Minneapolis man was charged with fourth-degree DUI after nearly colliding with a squad car.
  • A window of a vehicle was reportedly broken while in the parking lot.
  • A 22-year-old Bloomington woman was charged with second-degree DUI.

  • A 19-year-old Plymouth man was charged with drug paraphernalia possession.

March 6

  • The glass of various fire extinguisher boxes were reportedly broken out at an apartment complex on the 700 block of 77th Street.
  • Police responded to a protection order violation.
  • Police responded to a report that two females were removing items from a city owned building. When officers arrived the parties were not located, however a window on the east side had been cut out and the front door padlock was pried open. The city hasn't determined the losses yet.
  • A man reported that a storage garage he rents had been burglarized. Items with a value of nearly $10,000 were reported missing.
  • A driver was cited for marijuana possession in a motor vehicle.
  • A woman reported a domestic assault on the 7200 block of Wentworth. No medical attention was needed.
  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the 400 block of 65th Street West. The male party was charged with assault after he allegedly attempted to strangle a woman.

March 7

  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the 7700 block of Penn Avenue. The male party was charged with assault, while the female was taken to the hospital for an injury.
  • A 35-year-old Richfield man was charged with fourth-degree DUI.
  • A local resident reported that an unknown person had made fraudlent transaction with his credit card.
  • A man reported his tax refund check was stolen.
