Regarding fireworks, in Minnesota citizens must keep in mind that if it flies or explodes, it’s illegal. Personal fireworks legal for use in Minnesota are sparklers, snakes, glow worms, string poppers, and other non-aerial, non-explosive devices. No fireworks may be used in Richfield parks and other public places.

Also, in past years during the fireworks viewing, several youngsters have been separated from their parents. If your child should become lost, report to the Richfield Public Safety Communications van located on Portland Avenue at the entrance to the park. Officers have been instructed to take lost children to the van and that is where your child will most likely be located.

Have a safe and enjoyable celebration.
