Indecent Exposure, Broken Door Knob & Predatory Offender Checks: Police Blotter

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's crime report from April 1, 2013, detailing incidents from March 28-30.

March 28

  • Police responded to a burglary alarm at a business on the 6400 block of Lyndale Avenue. Upon arrival officers found the door had been smashed in and a cash register had been taken. The estimated loss is $300.
  • Police responded to a shoplifting report at Target. The shoplifter was taken into custody.
  • A juvenile male reported that an unknown suspect had pointed a gun at him near the intersection of 66th Street and Bloomington Avenue. The suspect was not located.
  • A female reported that she had been sexually assaulted on the 7600 block of Penn Avenue.

March 29

  • Police located a suspect in a Minneapolis assault case, who was subsequently arrested for giving a false name to an officer.
  • Police responded to a burglary on the 6700 block of Penn Avenue. A window valued at $600 was broken and $500 in cash was taken.
  • Police responded to a property damage incident on the 1700 block of 76th Street West. A door knob valued at $150 was broken.
  • A victim reported being assaulted on the 600 block of 78th Street East while others took items from his vehicle.
  • A victim reported that a known suspect stole $310 in cash from her.
  • Super America, 826 W. 66th St., reported a gas theft of $20.06.
  • Police stopped a vehicle for traffic violations, and was subsequently cited for giving a false name to an officer and driving after license suspension.
  • An adult male was observed urinating in front of an apartment building ans was issued a citation for indecent exposure.

March 30

  • A 24-year-old Richfield man was arrested for fourth-degree DWI.
  • Police responded to a theft report on the 6700 block of Columbus Avenue. The victim had sent $250 in money ordr for an iPhone, but never received the phone.
  • Officers responded to a predatory offender registration check, however, found the party was not living at the address on the 2600 block of 70th Street West.
  • Officers performed a predatory offender compliance check on the 100 block of 66th Street West.
  • Officers responded to a report of a male violating a no trespass order. A citation was issued.
  • Police responded to a report of a customer with a counterfeit bill at a business on the 6600 block of Cedar Avenue.
  • A 26-year-old Eagan man was arrested for marijuana possession.
