Police Blotter: Four Gas Thefts, Drugs & Ransacked Vehicles

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the 's Incident and Arrest reports from May 17, 2012, detailing incidents from May 13-16.

May 13

  • A 24-year-old Richfield man was charged with giving a false name to an officer.
  • Graffiti was found on 62nd Street and Clinton Avenue. Damage was estimated at $500.
  • A 42-year-old Richfield man, who was reportedly intoxicated, was charged with obstruction of legal process and then transported to detox.

May 14

  • A 22-year-old Minneapolis woman was charged with marijuana possession.
  • Police responded to two reports of a car prowler on the 6300 block of Oliver Avenue.
  • A vehicle was ransacked while it was parked in the driveway of a home on the 7400 block of Washburn Avenue. Five dollars in coins was reported taken; bolts from the bumper were also taken.
  • Another vehicle was ransacked overnight on the 7400 block of Washburn.
  • A bike was reported stolen.
  • A teacher reported that her credit card was stolen and used by a student.
  • , 7720 Nicollet Ave. S., reported a gas theft.
  • A juvenile was cited for shoplifting from . 
  • A disturbance involving a victim receiving harrassing communications was reported at police headquarters.
  • , 2913 66th St. W., reported a gas theft.
  • A Minneapolis men on 45 and the other 49, were charged with burglary and criminal damage to property.

May 15

  • Three men were charged with fleeing police after officers responded to a report of trespassing at .
  • A laptop was reported stolen after a resident returned home to find someone had gained entry through a window.
  • Fraudulent credit card puchases totally $340 was reported by a resident.
  • A vehicle window was broken out on the 10 block of 66th Street W.
  • The Nicollet Avenue Super America reported another gas theft.
  • A 21-year-old Richfield man was charged with marijuana possession and driving without a license.
  • A 31-year-old Champlin man was charged with cocaine possession.
