Arrestee Reports Being Assaulted While En Route to Jail—By Another Suspect: Police Blotter

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the information below was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's crime reportes from Dec. 14, 2012. The following are the incidents from Dec. 11-13.

Dec. 11

  • Police responded to HCMC to take a delayed report of criminal sexual misconduct.
  • Three parties were arrested after a special police unit conducted a prostitution sting and executed a search warrant at a residence on the 7100 block of Cedar Avenue.

  • Multiple items were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on the 6300 block of Logan Avenue.
  • Copper from four air conditioners on the 6200 block of Penn Avenue was stolen. The total damage and theft is valued at $24,000.
  • A driver was arrested on a warrant after he fled his vehicle on foot after being stopped by police.
  • Super America, 826 W. 66th St., reported a gas theft of $38.14.
  • Police responded to a report that a male did not pay his $20 taxi fare.

Dec. 13

  • Graffiti was found on a building on the 6700 block of Cedar Avenue. There are no suspects.
  • A victim report that he had been assaulted in the back of a squad car after he was arrested on Sept. 28, 201. He said he was assaulted by another suspect unrelated to his crime that was also being transported in the squad car.
