Great Escape: King Tut Exhibit
Looking for something different to do this weekend? How about a trip back to ancient Egyptian times?
The Science Museum of Minnesota is known for extravagant exhibits such as “The Human Body Gallery" or the "Dead Sea Scrolls: Words That Changed the World." This time they bring you "Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs," or King Tut, and his life in Egypt so many thousands of years ago.
Visitors can see more than 100 artifacts and mummies, and learn about Egyptian society and more. To compliment the exhibit, the 3D Omnitheatre is currently showing "Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs." Reservations are strongly recommended, especially on the weekend.
If the kiddies want to come view King Tut and other Egyptian wonders, bring them to the museum before 5:30 p.m. If you're looking for some adult enrichment, along with some "night-out" perks, come from 7–11 p.m. and enjoy a cash bar, food samples and a DJ preceding show times.
The River Centre parking ramp is located across from the museum and excepts all major credit cards. Call or go online to purchase tickets for both the exhibit and Omnitheatre. Prices vary depending on package and day.
