Remodeled Best Buy to Officially 'Re-Open' Saturday

After announcing, the Richfield Best Buy location will hold a grand re-opening celebration Saturday and Sunday.

The revamp is part of the company's . The model is a redesign of the company's current big-box concept. Stores, like Richfield's, were trimmed down and focus on portable electronics—such as tablets and e-readers—and feature a central knowledge desk where people can get things like wireless plans for cell phones.

According to a company press release, the new store will allow for a more interactive, accessible shopping experience. Roughly 20 percent of the store's space was reduced, making room for Ulta, a beauty products supply chain.

Of course, the grand opening brings with it a weekend of festivities. Ricky Rubio of the Minnesota Timberwolves will appear at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by Chef Mike DeCamp of Minneapolis' La Belle Vie at noon. On Sunday, Chef Landon Schoenfeld of Minneapolis' Haute Dish and a Spider-man appearance starting at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively. In addition, $5,000 in gift cards and technology will be given away throughout the days through a text-to-win contest.

An official Ulta opening date has not been announced.
