Pet of the Week: 'Hershey Kiss'

Hershey was abandoned near a farm in southern Minnesota and is looking for a new home.

Editor's note: This is a weekly series called "Pet of the Week" where we feature a companion up for adoption from Pet Haven of Minnesota.

Every two weeks, Richfield Petco partners with Pet Haven of Minnesota for adoption events for dogs and cats that need new homes.

This week's Richfield Patch Pet of the Week is Hershey:

Hershey is a chocolate-colored American Staffordshire/Pit Bull Terrier mix, and is believed to be about 2-3 years old. Hershey was abandoned near a farm in Southern Minnesota, and wasn’t having any luck finding a loving home with the locals of Martin County where she is from.

Hershey is a beautiful and affectionate dog with plenty of love to offer. So Pet Haven brought her up towards the metro area to let more families get the chance to meet her.

When she isn’t sunbathing, Hershey loves low-key activities at home with her foster family, including watching television and car rides. This 57-pound beauty does well with dogs and kids, but is less than keen on cats.

Hershey is perfectly suited in a single animal home, or with other dogs, but Hershey doesn’t do well with other animals besides canines. Pet Haven has high hopes for Hershey to find a good home, continue her training, and immediately become a breed ambassador for bully breeds from the start.

The next Richfield Petco adoption events are Nov. 3 and Nov. 17. For more information on Hershey, e-mail dogs@pethavenmn.org.
