6 Movies That Were Shot in Richfield

See which films Richfield has popped up in.

While you won’t find a Walk of Fame on Richfield's main drag, the community is no stranger to the silver screen.

Okay, while Richfield isn't the home filming location of many blockbuster hits, it does boast a handful of film credits, according to the Internet Movie Database.

With the most noteable film being Ethan and Joel Coen's 1996 hit, Fargo, Richfield has appeared in movies dating back to 1993. (And it seems the Coen brothers have a special place for Richfield.)

In honor of the 85th Academy Awards, check out these films with scenes filmed in Richfield:

In Joe Somebody they are at a storefront next to Homestead Pickin Parlor on Penn and eating Gary's Ice Cream (now Cone Brothers). Then in a car chase you can see CarX and the consignment shop across the street!

Unfortunately, specific locations weren't given. There were a ton of different shooting locations for Fargo. Maybe someone can watch it again and try and pick out Richfield! Anyone accepting of that challenge?

I've never seen that movie, but now I think I need to. Very cool.

From Wikepedia: "The "Wally McCarthy Oldsmobile" car dealership is located in the Minneapolis suburb of Richfield, located off of Interstate 494 and Penn Avenue. It has since been razed, and the site is currently home to Best Buy's corporate headquarters." Scene from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4Je2WxsqWA
