Where Should Richfield Build a Bandshell?

City taking survey of residents' opinions.

After several rounds of "Concerts on the Go," the City of Richfield wants your opinions—but not on the music.

The city is trying to narrow down where it will build a bandshell. A survey presented to summer concert goers asked them whether they would prefer Veterans Park or Lyndale Gardens for a new bandshell. The Richfield Bandshell Committee is also examining how respondents rate ambient noise and airplane noise at each site.

The survey can be taken online here. It was also presented to attendees at the July 24 and Aug. 7 "Concerts on the Go," one at each site.

For nearly a decade, the City of Richfield has been toying with the idea of creating a music venue within the city. And, as previously reported by Patch, Veterans Memorial Park was recommended as the building site for a bandshell by theRichfield Community Services Commission.

However, Lyndale Gardens developer The Cornerstone Group announced its plans to build an outdoor amphitheater last August, and hoped the city would become a partner.
