Suspects Skip Out on $12 Tab, Shoplifting & Assault: Police Blotter

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's crime reports from June 17, 2013, detailing incidents from June 13-15.

June 13

  • An adult male was arrested for giving false information to a police officer and an outstanding warrant.
  • Police responded to a burglary on the 7600 block of 16th Avenue South. Residents reported that their garage and the vehicles inside had been broken into, and items were taken.
  • A victim reported receiving a call from an individual claiming to be from Reader's Digest requesting money. The victim claimed it was a scam and that he was threatened by the individual.
  • A victim reported that a wallet, credit card, cash and a cell phone had been stolen from a locker at LA Fitness.
  • Police responded to a vehicle accident on the 7500 block of Bloomington Avenue. When police arrived it was determined that the party was under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested for DWI.
  • Super America, 2913 66th St. W., reported a gas theft of $81.87. The suspect was reportedly an Asian female driving a large, green SUV.
  • Police responded to a burglary on the 7700 block of Penn Avenue. The reporting party stated that sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. someone removed the screen from her apartment window, entered the apartment and stole her laptop.
  • Police responded to a domestic assault on the 7200 block of Cedar Avenue. Police determined one of the parties was suicidal and was the agressor in the domestic.
  • Police responded to a domestic on the 7600 block of Cedar Avenue. Both parties were located and the female was arrested for domestic assault. 
June 14
  • Police took a property damage report where a vehicle window was shattered. No entry was made to the vehicle.
  • Super America, 826 W. 66th St., reported a two gas thefts throughout the day.
  • Police responded to a report of a juvenile shoplifter in custody at Menard's. The juvenile was issued a citation and released to his mother.
  • Police responded to a shoplifting report at CVS. A Native American female reportedly entered the store and left without paying for merchandise valued at $342.29.
  • Police responded to a business on the 700 block of 66th Street West. Suspects did not pay for their entire food bill of $12.17.
June 15
  • Police stopped two juveniles for curfew violations on the 6600 block of 1st Avenue and issued citations. One juvenile was also cited for drug paraphernalia possession.
  • Police stopped three individuals for passing through a closed parking lot near 77th Street East and 14th Avenue. One was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
  • Two juvenile males reportedly broke the front driver's side window of a vehicle in a parking lot on the 900 block of Rae Drive. It was unknown if anything was taken.
  • After stopping a vehicle for minor violations on I-35W northbound near 46th Street, the driver was arrested for fourth-degree DWI and released.
  • Six power tools were reported stolen from Home Depot by three suspects.
  • Police responded to a theft report at BP gas station on the 7500 block of Lyndale Avenue. Used steel car parts stored in a barrel outside the station were taken.
  • Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on the 7100 block of Cedar Avenue. Three occupants were found and the rear passenger was found in possession of 10.1 grams of marijuana.
  • Police responded to a burglary on the 7300 block of Nicollet Avenue. Speaking to witnesses in the area, two juvenile suspects were later identified and the property was later located in their possession.
