Richfield Resident Charged with Kidnapping

Prosecutors say Ronald Jermaine Jackson, along with an accomplice, kidnapped a man from in front of his home in Loretto, MN.

Two men, including one from Richfield, face kidnapping charges following what authorities describe as an abduction with a firearm that took place Wednesday outside the victim's home in Loretto, MN.

The defendants, each charged with felony kidnapping, are William Charles Graham, 30, of New Hope, and Ronald Jermaine Jackson, 29, of Richfield, according to KSTP.com

Loretto is about 30 miles northwest of Richfield in Hennepin County.

This is the account police in nearby Medina gave, according to Lake Minnetonka Patch, in a report posted Thursday:

After an area search involving several agencies from the west metro, several K9 units and the State Patrol helicopter, a 29-year-old male and 30-year-old male were taken into custody just after midnight. The suspects were booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center for kidnapping. The victim was reunited with his family.

The incident does not appear to be random.

There are no other suspects being sought after. There is no danger to the public. The incident is still under investigation by the Medina Police Department.

It was discovered that the victim is a manager of a Verizon retail store in Minneapolis. The suspects had followed the victim to the location of the abduction. As the victim was exiting his vehicle one of the suspects approached him with a gun and pulled him towards the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspects zip tied his hands and shoved him into the trunk of the Dodge Charger. It is believed that the suspects’ intentions were to take keys to the retail store to gain entry to burglarize it.

KSTP, citing a Hennepin County criminal complaint released Friday, said police took a report from a woman who said her husband arrived home in his car but never made it into their house. Police caught up with a car seen leaving the scene on Pioneer Trail north of Hwy. 55 (see image above), where the suspects fled on foot after the alleged victim made pounding sounds from inside the car's trunk. They were eventually arrested in a field in Corcoran, MN.

The alleged victim appeared to have been targeted and followed home because he worked at a Verizon store, KSTP reported.
