Body Recovered From Mississippi River Near Fort Snelling

The discovery came around 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The body of an unidentified female was found in the Mississippi River near Fort Snelling State Park around 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, a fisherman reported that he saw body entangled in a tree in the channel of the river. Minnesota State Patrol, Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota DNR, and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will make the identification.Patch will update readers as more information becomes available.
