Richfield Target Cities 97 Sampler Supply Less Than in 2010

As metro area Targets gear up for the release of the coveted CD, shoppers should expect long lines and less stock this year.

is one of a handful of metro area Targets that will see hundreds of Cities 97 Sampler CD fans line up in the wee hours of the morning Thursday to snatch a copy or two of this year's release.

However, those planning on picking a copy up should know Richfield Target will not have as many copies as it did in 2010. Executive Team Lead of Assests Management, Allie Rikke, told Richfield Patch that the city's store will have just over 700 copies available, which is roughly 200 less than in 2010.

. In addition, those first in line began lining up around 4 a.m., with the store opening at 8 a.m. sharp. All those waiting in line at Richfield Target received their copies; CDs metro-wide were sold out within two hours.

Rikke wasn't sure why Richfield Target received less than in years past, but thought it was likely based on CD sales throughout the metro area last year. Those stores that sold more in a short period of time may be getting more to help with costumer demand.

While you may have to get in line a little earlier, Rikke said Target will likely have treats and coffee to warm shoppers' spirits as they wait. Each customer is allowed to purchase up to two copies; doors will open at 8 a.m. All proceeds will go to various Minnesota charities.
