Richfield Man Charged With First-Degree Rape

Police say Tyrone Edward Reynolds became upset when the victim wouldn't agree to stay with him, punched her repeatedly and then sexually assaulted her.

Police say a Richfield man raped a woman when she refused to hug him after the two discussed the breakup of their relationship. Tyrone Edward Reynolds, 37, is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony with a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $40,000 fine. According to the complaint, signed by Richfield Police Detective Joseph Ogren, the victim came to the police station on Oct. 25 and said that Reynolds had sexually assaulted her. The woman said she had ended her relationship with Reynolds because he had abused her for seven months, and that she had an active protection order against him. However, the woman said, she allowed Reynolds to come to her home on the evening of Oct. 24 to discuss their breakup, and he …
