'Washington' Ranks No. 1 on List of Places With Presidents' Names

Not only does it rank first among presidents' names, its No. 1 when it comes to names of places throughout the United States. See more below.

Presidents’ Day is observed on the third Monday of February every year. And while many feel Presidents’ Day is a time to honor all former U.S. presidents, the holiday is actually the official observance of George Washington’s birthday, which is Feb. 22, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The Census Bureau recently released a list of the country's 100 most common names of places, minor civil divisions (MCD) and counties. The following is the list from the Census Bureau: 61 Grant Note: The “actual name” column is based on the number of places, MCDs and counties with just that name alone. Richfield Patch to Celebrate its Anniversary with Special Sandy's Tavern Trivia Night

Richfield Patch is approaching its one-year anniversary.

Richfield Patch will celebrate its "first birthday" on Nov. 17, 2011 and to celebrate the big day, we're teaming up with Sandy's Tavern Monday, Nov. 7 for a special Patch and Richfield-centric trivia night. Sandy's Tavern has been hosting a weekly trivia night for more than a year every Monday and on Nov. 7 trivia players will play five rounds of five questions, each centered around Patch and the Richfield community. What's at Stake? As always, the cost to play is $1 per person and goes into a pot which the winning team takes home. Patch will match the pot amount up to $50, so players have a chance to win some good money. Patch will also have plenty of other goodies to give out. Up to four people are allowed per team. How Do I Prepare? …

Trivia host Kevin Parks tried to stump us all and used the holiday season as a theme for the five regulation rounds. I showed up with my secret weapon: Dad. My dad knows everything. Simple as that. Well, with the exception of Star Trek or other science fiction trivia; topics which eventually defeated us in the second tie-breaker round of the night. However, that is neither here nor there. My point? I spent the night with my dad and some friends learning little known facts about the holiday season and, apparently, widely known facts about Star Trek. Five things I learned were: All in all, it was a fun night of holiday …
