Richfield Police Arrest Habitual Offender with Large Amounts of Heroin, Cocaine

Police arrested Thomas Rashaun Gibson when they spotted him driving too slowly in Richfield, then learned that he had large quantities of heroin and cocaine in his possession.

A Waseca man with more than a dozen failure-to-appear citations, and dozens more driving violations, is facing serious drug charges after police stopped him in Richfield and found large quantities of heroin and cocaine in his possession. Thomas Rashaun Gibson, 30, is charged with two felonies: first-degree heroin possession, which has a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and a $1 million fine, and second-degree cocaine possession, for which the maximum penalty is 40 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. Gibson is also charged with obstructing the legal process, a gross misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $3,000 fine.
