The city is trying to decide where to install a performance bandshell in town, and is testing two new spots this year.
For the last few years, Richfield Recreation's weekly summer concert series has been exclusively held at Augsburg Park on Thursday evening. This year, four other dates have been added as part of the "Music on the Go" series, and two venues currently vying to be the city's future outdoor performance spot are hosting the concerts. Lyndale Gardens, which is in the process of being redeveloped, and Veterans Memorial Park will each host two concerts beginning in late June. For nearly a decade, the City of Richfield has been toying with the idea of creating a music venue within the city. And, as previously reported by Patch, Veterans Memorial Park was recommended as the building site for a bandshell by the Richfield Community Services Commission…

The Richfield City Council will consider a rezoning ordinance, as well as final development plan approval and conditional use permits Tuesday night. However, there is a small twist. "We've been working with this grocer for almost a year and a half and its really satisfying for us to be able formally announce it," Carey told Richfield Patch Tuesday. A purchase agreement was finalized last week and the announcement was made at a Richfield City Council special worksession at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. Yes. A purchase agreement. Not a …

The Richfield Community Services Commission recently recommended the proposed music venue should be at Veterans Memorial Park.
The developer of the long-vacant Lyndale Garden Center is "disappointed" by a city commission's recent recommendation regarding the building of a bandshell in town. The Richfield Community Services Commission recently recommended Veterans Memorial Park, however, Lyndale Gardens developer, The Cornerstone Group, was also planning on building a performance stage and hoping the city would be a part of it. After unveiling initial design plans for the blighted site in August, The Cornerstone Group told Richfield Patch it planned on going forward with the performance space regardless of the city's participation. This is still the case. "We were disappointed to hear that the commission was recommending Veterans Park as the location for the …
