Richfield Woman Charged with Stealing Textbooks

Amy Leigh Bischof is accused of walking off with more than $4,000 worth of books from a college bookstore.

A Richfield woman has been charged with walking off with more than $4,000 worth of textbooks from Inver Hills Community College. Amy Leigh Bischof, 38, faces a felony theft charge, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. According to the criminal complaint against her, surveillance video from the Inver Hills Community College bookstore showed Bischof placing textbooks in a large bag last Nov. 3 and walking out the bookstore door with them. A bookstore employee contacted police on Nov. 11, telling them that the value of the stolen books was in excess of $4,000. Police located Bischof on Nov. 15, and she admitted that she took the books and said she sells them, according to the complaint. Bischof, who has …
