Registration Opens for Annual 'Police & Fire Safety Day'

This program is for Richfield children entering fourth-grade.

Editor's Note: The following is a Richfield Public Safety press release. Richfield Police and Fire Safety Day Tuesday, June 11, 8:00 am to 5:15 pm Posted Date: 4/11/2013 This program is for Richfield children entering fourth grade. Participants will learn fire, bike, electrical and personal safety, basic first aid, emergency preparedness and bullying prevention, all while being mentored by police officers and fire fighters.  Safety Day takes place at the Richfield STEM School, 7020 12th Ave S, from 8:00 am until 5:15 pm.  A graduation and pizza party for the children and their parents will take place immediately following Safety Day in the STEM School lunchroom. City Switching to New Emergency Alert System

As of April 5, the City of Richfield stopped using the Code Red Community Alerting System.

Editor's Note: The following is a City of Richfield message. Effective April 5, 2013, the City of Richfield will no longer use the Code Red Community Alerting System. The City of Richfield is in the process of implementing the Everbridge Emergency Alerting System. The Everbridge Emergency Alerting System will go into effect on July 1, 2013. Please visit the City of Richfield Website or the Richfield Police Department’s Facebook page after June 24, 2013 to find out how to enroll in the Everbridge Emergency Alerting System. The Everbridge alerting system is intended to provide mass notification to community residents if warranted regarding disasters or other information that residents should know about in an emergency. To be clear, I fully support cracking down on drunk driving. Cracking down on drunk *riding* in a car is another matter, where there is a murkier path to a legal search, and less of a public safety issue.   more ›
