The Richfield Foundation will host its annual dinner at Pizza Luce, 800 West 66th Street, Richfield, on Tuesday, March 26 at 6 pm. The dinner will feature Karen Shragg of Wood Lake Nature Center, who will present a talk titled "Success in Building Community." Musical entertainment will also be performed by Indånde, a performing arts trio led by Richfield resident Amy Morris. Indånde is a Danish word that means "to breathe." The musical trio includes Amy Morris, flute; Mark Seerup, oboe; and Janet Greene, clarinet. Reservations are $20 and include a buffet dinner and appetizers. (Beverages may be purchased separately.) Whether they admit it or not, most men like to be pampered now and then. The Richfield Foundation along with Mayor Debbie Goettel are offering a chance for guys to get a little tender loving care—for their hands and feet. From 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, local men can participate in "Guys Night Out at the Spa" at Red Nails, 716 W. 66th St. in Richfield. The cost is $50 for a pedicure and $30 for a manicure. Half of the cost is tax deductible, as it will go to the Richfield Foundation. Drinks and snacks will be provided. The Richfield Foundation, a local non-profit organization, is now accepting applications for grants that will be awarded in December 2011. Eligible non-profit agencies and governmental units (schools, municipalities, etc.) with outreach projects serving the Richfield community are encouraged to apply. Projects serving youth at risk and immigrant neighbors will receive the highest consideration. Concerned citizens who wanted to ensure that Richfield remains a strong and vibrant community for its residents organized the Richfield Foundation in 1989.
