Mark Jerome Anderson (6/23/60) was formally charged with prostitution of a known juvenile, a felony. The Sheriff’s Office and Dayton Police began investigating the case when authorities learned that a man had been “sexting” with the victim. Anderson had met the victim in an online chatroom and then they began exchanging text messages. During texting, Anderson and the victim discussed their ages and details of …

Two years ago today, I sat anxiously at my kitchen table asking myself, "Now what?" Yes. After months of prep, Richfield Patch was born early in the morning on Nov. 17, 2010 and for a moment I had no idea what to do next. The community site was finally alive and the real work had begun. Now, I'll be brief: Thank you to all those who have read, contributed, engaged and recommended Richfield Patch to another. The official Patch iPhone app is now available on the Apple App Store shelves. The app features a variety of ways for you to stay connected and keep up to date about what’s going on in town. For starters, the Patch app will consist of all the things you see on Richfield Patch, including community news, weather, local business listings and events in the city. You can read the latest articles on the recent school board meeting, the best place to grab lunch and see who got busted in the police blotter. I had not heard about this incident prior to reading Edina Patch. I am disappointed that the school district did not address this with parents. Although the story states only "a few" students were involved, my guess is that it reached far beyond. This is an opportunity for students AND parents to learn how to handle these situations.
