Police say Bryce William Banks arranged to sell methamphetamine to an undercover informant in the U of M's Comstock Hall.
A Richfield man has been charged with selling methamphetamine to an undercover informant in the University of Minnesota’s Comstock Hall. Bryce William Banks, 31, is charged with third-degree drug sales, a felony with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The charge carries a mandatory minimum fine of $75,000. University of Minnesota police spoke to a “cooperating individual” on Nov. 17 who told them that he had purchased methamphetamine from Banks in the past, according to the criminal complaint. The individual contacted Banks via phone and text message and made arrangements to buy $150 worth of methamphetamine at Comstock Hall, according to the complaint. Homero Urbina-Chavez has not yet been sentenced but faces a maximum penalty of life in prison. According to a press release from the Minnesota branch of the United States Attorney's Office, Urbina-Chavez along with Alfredo Cazares-Medina, 40, of Phoenix, AZ, were indicted on April 16, 2012. Cazares-Medina also pleaded guilty to the same charge. In their plea agreements, both men admitted that between September 2009 and April 5, 2012 they conspired to obtain and distribute methamphetamine to various people in …
