Council Approves Purchase of Ten 17th Avenue Homes

The purchase is part of the revamp of Richfield Parkway and a bike trail near Cedar Point Commons.

After years of waiting, owners of 10 homes on 17th Avenue will soon be receiving checks from the City of Richfield. The Richfield City Council approved the purchase of the homes Tuesday night. The homes are adjacent to the Cedar Point Commons shopping center between 63rd and 65th streets. Purchase prices ranged from $145,000 to $180,000. Richfield Crime Alert: Possible Water Testing Scam

Several residents have contacted Richfield's water department regarding bottles being left on their doorsteps asking for water samples.

The man worked his way into the home and requested to use the bathroom. No items were taken. However, it was very difficult for the homeowner to get rid of the individual. He would not provide a business card or a company name. The man was driving a grey…

What happens when the house you are selling or buying gets hit by a tornado? The answer is—it depends. Claims adjusters are good an handling claims on a case by case basis, so if the home is totally destroyed and it’s a short sale or otherwise literally or figuratively underwater, the insurance money can be used only to rebuild, not to pay off a mortgage. The only exceptions are when a local government won’t allow construction. Sellers still own and are responsible for the home until the moment of closing. If the home is damaged or destroyed the night before all the papers are signed, the sellers and their insurance company must cover the costs. Standard purchase agreements contain a provision that allows the buyer to back out without …
