Centennial Elementary School Principal LeeAnn Wise has stepped down as the head Richfield High School girls basketball coach after *six seasons in the position. Wise confirmed her decision with Richfield Patch Thursday morning. The news comes on the heels of a major season for the team, as it made it all the way to the final state championship game in March. Wise Commits to Jamestown Jimmies

Richfield High School's Hannah Wise signs on to play basketball at Jamestown College.

Richfield High School senior and girls basketball shooting guard, Hannah Wise, has signed a letter of intent to attend and play at Jamestown College in North Dakota. Wise is a two-time All-Conference selection, an All-State Honorable Mention selection for RHS and, according to mom and coach LeeAnn Wise, a big part of the team's successful 13-3 record this season. "We are excited for Hannah to be joining the Jimmie family," Ulland said in an article on the school's website. Spartans Come Up Short Against Hornets

Edina hangs on to top Richfield in a battle of Top-3 ranked girls basketball teams from Class AAA, AAAA on Thursday night.

Not shying away from its share of top-notch competition this season, the Richfield High School girls basketball—ranked third in Class AAA—hosted Class AAAA's No. 2 rankee, Edina, in a non-conference border battle at RHS on Thursday night. The undefeated Hornets entered the Richfield gymnasium with a spotless 14-0 record, with wins over two ranked teams so far this season—having topped Hill-Murray (No. 5, AAA) and Lakeville North (No. 3, AAAA) in back-to-back games in December. Richfield, fielding one of the most talented collectives in team history, came into the night with a 12-2 overall mark, a nine-game winning streak, and wins over a trio of ranked teams that included Hill-Murray and Bloomington Kennedy (No. 4, AAAA). Looking Back At Richfield's Successful Hoops Seasons

Spartans boys, girls basketball squads delivered winning campaigns with outlook of future prosperity.

If there were two common threads between the Richfield girls and boys basketball teams this past season, it was that both found more success than many figured and both still saw their seasons come to an end all-too soon. Both squads helped create a sense of community on many a cold winter night and gave not only students and parents, but an entire town something to cheer for and through their play brought a sense of pride to Richfield. Girls Hoopsters Post 23-5 Record "It surprised me how well we did," Spartans girls head coach LeeAnn Wise said. "I didn't think we'd end up with 23 wins." Paced by the efforts of the state's leading scorer, sophomore guard Jessica January, the Richfield girls basketball team posted a 23-5 overall record and …
