Police say Cleveon James Hughes showed up at a Richfield apartment building with a 15-inch knife, saying he had come to kill a man.
A Bloomington man has been charged with brandishing a 15-inch knife at a Richfield man’s home and threatening to come back and kill him. Cleveon James Hughes, 43, is charged with making terroristic threats, a felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Richfield Police were called to a Richfield apartment after a woman reported she had been threatened by a man with a knife. According to the complaint, the woman said Hughes arrived at her home holding a 15-inch knife. She told Police Hughes said he was going to kill her husband and then began walking toward the apartment building. A 24-year-old Minneapolis man, Abdullahi Jimale Jama, was charged with making terroristic threats after police say he threatened to kill a Richfield woman while she was being interviewed by a police officer last week. Making terroristic threats is a felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Police were called to a home on the 900 block of East 77th Street just before 5 p.m. April 19 on a report of an assault in progress. A Minneapolis police detective, who was interviewing the victim about an unrelated crime, made the assault call to Richfield Police. A Richfield man has been charged with making terroristic threats after authorities say he threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend in Lakeville and slit her new boyfriend’s throat. Michael Ray Aldrich, 56, faces a felony charge, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. According to the criminal complaint, Lakeville police were called to the victim’s home just before 11 p.m. Thursday. The victim reported that she had been receiving threatening calls and text messages from Aldrich, and that he had threatened to kill her and slit her new boyfriend’s throat.
