Woman Arrested for Cocaine, Promoting Prostitution After Richfield Sting

Police say they found crack cocaine in the Richfield apartment where Angela Lydia Cook was promoting prostitution.

A Richfield woman has been charged with felony drug possession and promoting prostitution from her Richfield apartment. Angela Lydia Cook, 28, is charged with third-degree drug possession, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The charge has a mandatory minimum penalty of a $75,000 fine. Cook is also charged with solicitation, inducement and promotion of prostitution, a felony with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $40,000 fine. Officers with the Richfield Police Department investigating prostitution in the city found an advertisement on Backpage.com and called the listed number, according to the criminal complaint. Richfield Man Charged With Cocaine Possession

Rashaun Montice Chappell was charged with felony cocaine possession Nov. 23, 2011.

Richfield resident Rashaun Montice Chappell, 30, was charged with felony cocaine possession Nov. 23, 2011 based on probable cause. According to the criminal complaint, Minneapolis Police executed a search warrant for an apartment on the 3400 block of Portland Avenue in Minneapolis Nov. 22. When Police gained entry to the residence, officers reported they observed Chappell throw a baggie to the floor. A field test indicated that the substance in the baggie was crack cocaine; a total of 1.7 grams was found. The complaint also stated that an acquaintance of Chappell's, who Police believed to be the resident of the apartment, was also found to be in possession of 56 grams of marijuana.
