It's my understanding that the amt of money taken is never disclosed in order to not give the public the impression how easy it is to do this to get a lg sum of money? Richfield Man Charged With Stealing Hospitalized Relative's Jewelry

Police say Joseph John Litchy stole jewelry from the Lakeville woman while she was in the hospital's intensive care unit, then pawned it.

A Richfield man has been charged with stealing jewelry from a relative in Lakeville while the woman was hospitalized last spring. Joseph John Litchy, 21, is charged with felony theft, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. According to the criminal complaint, a Lakeville woman told police that she left the home that she shares with her mother on March 23 and found Litchy, her cousin, sleeping in a car in the driveway. The woman said she let Litchy into the house, then she left to visit her mother, who was in the hospital’s intensive care unit. When she told her mother that she’d let Litchy inside, her mother told her to “hide the jewelry” because Litchy couldn’t be trusted. The woman returned home later…

Burglar Busted After Leaving His Cell Phone On Victim's Sofa

Police say Cody John Peterson broke into a Minneapolis apartment and stole guitars, cameras, electronic equipment and a wallet, but left his cell phone on the couch along with a fingerprint on the entertainment center.

A Richfield man has been charged with burglarizing a Minneapolis home while the resident slept, making guitars, cameras, an iPad, a laptop computer and DVDs—but leaving his cell phone behind. Cody John Peterson, 23, is charged with first-degree burglary, a felony with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $35,000 fine. The charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of six months behind bars. According to the criminal complaint, signed by Minneapolis Police Officer Phillip Gagnon, police were called to an apartment on the 2700 block of Hennepin Avenue South just before 8 a.m. Sept. 6 after the homeowner reported he had been burglarized.
