The incident occurred early Monday morning near 66th Street and Nicollet Avenue.
A man was stabbed in the area of 66th Street and Nicollet Avenue early Tuesday morning. According to a release from the Richfield Public Safety Department, police and rescue personnel were dispatched to the 66th and Nicollet area at 1:29 a.m. on a report of a stabbing. When police arrived, the victim was found with a stab wound to the neck. Aid was administered and Hennepin County paramedic transported him to Hennepin County Medical Center for further treatment. Richfield officers also set up a perimeter and initiated a K-9 track, according to the release. The suspect was located in the 6300 block of Nicollet Avenue hiding between two parked cars. Maybe if our society was geared more toward helping the mentally ill instead of pretending that they do not exist,we would have less crime and gun violence. Wake up people and start dealing with the real issues. As a parent of two mentally ill children, I can attest to the bias and ignorance that exists.
