Mark Johnson will be Richfield High School's new boys hockey coach this coming season after long-time Richfield teacher John Christ resigned at the end of the 2011-12 season. Another future Richfield High School graduate signed a letter of intent last week. Jake Bauer plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and be part of its Nordic Ski program. The third annual Camp Ojibway 5K and Kids Run will be held May 19 at Hope Presbyterian Church.
Hope Presbyterian Church has run Camp Ojibway in Eden Valley, MN since the summer of 1959, welcoming both young and old camp-goers to the 3.25-acre refuge. From fishing and paddle boating to singing and skits, Camp Ojibway is a summer destination for many Hope Church members as well as many non-parishioners. Olson attended Northern Illinois University where he started in every game—setting a school record for most games played. Olson played for three years under Jerry Kill, now the head coach of the University of Minnesota Gophers.
