Halloween Costume Swap, Card Scratch Art & Pumpkins: Richfield Weekend Planner

It's nearly the weekend, and Patch has some great ideas on how to make the most of it! Check out the various things happening in and near Richfield below:

Cook with Jamie Malone & Lenny Russo


When: 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013.

Where: Best Buy, 1000 W. 78th St.

Details: Acclaimed Minneapolis chefs Lenny Russo of Heartland & Jamie Malone of Sea Change (Guthrie) will be at Best Buy in Richfield for a live cooking demonstration. These pros will be teaching some delicious recipes using Best Buy's small appliances. The event will feature free beverages and food samples along with some prize giveaways up to $2,000 in value. 

Richfield Pumpkin Patch


From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 27, bring the family to Veterans Memorial Park for the Second Annual Richfield Pumpkin Patch.

According to an event release from Wheel Fun Rentals:

"Event wristbands are just $19 for kids 3-17 and includes mini-golf, unlimited games, inflatables and a pumpkin. Kid’s $14 wristbands includes everything except mini-golf. Adult wristbands are $9 and $5, and Seniors are free. Schools and groups are welcome to make arrangements for weekday visits; for group reservations please call (612) 861-9348."

Paint, Scratch, Spin and Win with the Arts Commission


When: 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013.
Where: Richfield Art Center, 6335 Portland Ave. S.
Details: Join the Richfield Arts Commission for the last Art Center 
open house of the season. It's your last chance to add a bit of paint to the sculpture before it gets placed, so don't miss out. The commission will also be offering Pumpkin Card Scratch Art and Spin Art, and giving away pottery art during a pottery-lottery drawing.

National Costume Swap Day


When: 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013

Where:
Totally Kids Fun Furniture & Toys, 7876 Portland Ave. S. in Bloomington.

Details:
 Celebrate Halloween EEK-O-nomically with Totally Kids fun furniture & toys. The event features fun games, treats and all children will go home with a FREE prize. Bring in a child size Halloween costume to swap and take home a "new to you" one. Plus you are invited to continue swapping costume until Halloween. Start bringing in bringing in your costumes now and receive 10% OFF anything and everything in the store or online. All left-over costumes will be donated to St. Joseph's Home for Children.
