Celebrate the Winter Solstice at Lyndale Gardens

Winter Market and Solstice Festival of Lights


When: 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013.

Where: The site of the future Lyndale Gardens development, 6400 Lyndale Ave. S. in Richfield.

Details: A family friendly winter gathering featuring a holiday market for last minute gift shopping, a holiday sing-along, “Snowga”, a community bonfire and an artist-made Labyrinth of Lights. Chef Shack and Tot Boss food trucks will be onsite. The event will coincide with an open studio hosted by the artists of The Artful Nook (formerly Crosstown Creative). All events are FREE and open to the public. Parking available; no ticket required. Walking and carpooling encouraged!

Proclamation's Proclaim Christmas Concert


When
: 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21.

Where: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 51 East County Rd. 42 in Burnsville.

BONUS: Meet Congressman Keith Ellison


When: 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19.

Where: Hope's Silver Spoon Restaurant, 6700 Penn Ave. S. in Richfield.

Details: Representative Keith Ellison will be the featured guest at the next Penn Central of Richfield meeting Thursday morning. The breakfast meeting will be a chance to hear from and talk with Representative Ellison about what's happening in Washington D.C., as well as express concerns about the local community. Representative Ellison's 5th district of Minnesota includes Richfield. The public is invited to attend and the meeting is free of charge for admission. Guests may purchase a breakfast at the Silver Spoon Restaurant at their own expense.
