Richfield School Open Houses, Forum with Congressman Ellison and Special City Council Meeting

Here is a look at a variety of events happening the week of Aug. 26-Sept. 2, 2013. 

Richfield High School varsity cross country team participates in scrimmage against Bloomington Kennedy, Burnsville and Hastings at Richfield High School 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26.

The Richfield High School girls junior varsity and varsity tennis have a match at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26. The junior varsity team will play against Minneapolis Southwest at Richfield Augsburg Park Courts. The varsity team plays against Southwest at Richfield High School tennis courts. 

The MOMS Club of Richfield/SE Minneapolis will have an all-member meeting 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26 at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church, 5760 Portland Avenue South in Minneapolis. Stop by to check out what this free group for part time or full time stay at home mothers. 

The Richfield High School girls and boys high school “c” soccer teams have games 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Richfield High School. 

Attend the RNAV Forum with Congressman Keith Ellison 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Washburn High School, 201 W. 49th Street in Minneapolis. Ellison will discuss implementing RNAV at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport. 

The Richfield City Council will have a special meeting 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 to discuss the budget at the Richfield Municipal Center, Bartholomew Conference Room, 6700 Portland Avenue South. 

The Richfield Middle School Fall Essentials event is 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for all families Aug. 28-29. 

Richfield Dual Language School kindergarten open house is 10:30 a.m. to noon and 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 28. Pick a time that works best for your family. 

Visit the farmers market twice this week. Lyndale Gardens Market (64th and Lyndale Avenue) 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 or Main Market at Veterans Park (64th and Portland Avenue) 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 31. 

Richfield High School freshman orientation is noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Richfield High School Cafeteria, located at 70th and Harriet. 

Richfield Dual Language School first through fifth grade open house is 10:30 a.m. to noon or 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29. Pick a time that works best for your family.

Richfield S.T.E.M. School has open house/ice cream treats for all grades 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.

Sheridan Hills Elementary has their back to school open house ice cream social 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.

Several games and matches will take place at Richfield High School Thursday, Aug. 29. The “B” football game and girls “C” soccer game start at 4 p.m. Volleyball matches for JV and B start at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity at 7 p.m.

The Richfield High School varsity football team takes on South St. Paul at RHS 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.
