Cold Weather Prompts Additional Closures, Changes

Here's a few things you should know this week.

Richfield Public Schools students will enjoy an extra day of winter break Monday after Gov. Mark Dayton announced Friday that all public schools would be closed in anticipation of extremely cold weather.

The district may decide to cancel school on Tuesday as well, however, that decision has not yet been made.

  • In addition, some Minnesota businesses and organizations have made changes to their Monday plans, according to KSTP.com:

    • Rainbow Foods locations, including the one in Richfield, will close early at 8 p.m. Monday;
    • The Minnesota Zoo will be closed Monday;
    • Best Buy, General Mills and Allina Health are among companies letting employees work from home Monday.
