Santa Claus himself made an early appearance in Richfield Saturday morning, stopping in to listen to Christmas wishes and eat pancakes at the Richfield Optimist Club's annual pancake extravaganza.

Children and adults were invited to take a turn on Santa's lap to tell him their Christmas wish list and take a photo or two. One of his elves was also on hand for face painting. Richfield Junior Optimists were also making the rounds, serving pancakes and sausage, refilling beverages and singing Christmas carols.

The Richfield Optimist Club's mission is to support and provide programming and opportunities for area youth.
