PHOTOS: Richfield Neighborhood Champions Honored For Their Community Service

The Family Partnership presented certificates and medals to those nominated as 2011 Richfield Neighborhood Champions Thursday night.

Dozens of community members, friends and families gathered to honor the many Thursday night at . The event was sponsored by Minneapolis-based The Family Partnership.

More than 50 community members and people who work in Richfield were nominated for their work in bettering the community. All neighborhood champions received a certificate detailing the reason for their nomination and a keepsake medal; roughly half were present to accept. The Richfield Aztec Dance Group also performed for all attendees with several tribal dances while wearing beautiful, handmade costumes.

Nominations for the 2012 awards can be submitted to Maria Zavala at mzavala@thefamilypartnership.org beginning Jan. 1, 2012. Congratulations to all who received the honor.
