PHOTOS: Locals Brave the Heat for Richfield's Family Night

The Richfeld Hometown 4th of July Celebration featured Family Night Monday.

With temperatures topping out at 99 degrees Monday night, hundreds of locals braved the sweltering air to be merry at the Richfield Hometown 4th of July Family Night event at .

The evening kicked off with the annual and music and entertainment was provided by Kidsdance. Event goers dined on 50-cent hotdogs, chips and sodas, and did their best hula and cha-cha.

The heat prompted a fire hydrant to be opened up for kids, and adults, to cool themselves before sliding down an inflatable replica of the Titantic sinking. The night ended with a showing of "The Smurfs" on a large, inflatable big screen.
