Getting Started: What Kind of Wedding Should We Have? Time to Get in Shape for the Big Day!

Every bride wants to look her absolute best on her wedding day. In this blog we discuss the kind of wedding were going to have and how were improving our health and well being as well.

as the reality of all the choices that need to be made around our wedding hit home. So many things to do … Where do you start?  Well, Colin and I choose three things to start with: the first was what kind of wedding we wanted. The second was developing a budget, and finally our health and well being.

A "Time Warp" Wedding

Colin and I want a unique wedding with a traditional mix. We looked at the things that were most important to us. Our vows, having our family and closet friends present, the dancing. We want it outdoors, and we want it to be unique to us. At first we thought of a destination wedding, but not all our family would be there.

As we continue to rack our brains for what we want for our special day, Colin’s sister invited us to the Renaissance Festival. Getting married at the Renaissance Festival was something we had joked about before but it was all the sudden clear as night and day. We would have a Renaissance Wedding. A time warp wedding. The ceremony will be at the festival and a more traditional reception with a Renaissance theme would be held else where.

Once the idea was created it was a matter of making a budget. After lots of research by us and our parents, the budget is set and now we going to have fun planning!

Taking a Step Toward a Healthy Life Before a Step Down the Isle

he purposely choose to propose before the finish line of the Minnesota Zoo 5K so that we could finish together, starting our lives together with health and fitness. With the upcoming wedding naturally we want to look our best and work to create a healthy life together. To add some fun we have started this journey of health and fitness by taking inspiration from The Biggest Loser. For the next month and a half we will be weighing in and the person with the most percent of weight loss wins a date night activity of their choice.
